Generosity can be powerful

According to the Merriam-Webster.com dictionary, generosity means the quality of being kind, understanding, and not selfish.  Generous- showing kindness and concern for  others.

In the Bible, Acts 20:35, Paul reminds us of what Jesus said when he was here on earth preaching the good news,  “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.

Do you find that you will read something in the Bible , do it, and it turns out to be quite amazing. We find God really knows what He is talking about when we put the Bible into practice. As I was going to sleep the other day, I started thinking about this blog post and I feel that God opened up this verse in a whole new way for me.  I want to share it with you because I believe those that show more generosity in their lives will be blessed in many different ways. Remember the Bible (God) says “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.

Can you imagine if you lived a more generous life, how that would affect you? Take a piece of paper and write down all the ways you could be more generous in your life and how that could make a difference in your life and the lives of others.

Social experiment: Why don’t you try to be more generous this week and see how you feel at the end of the week.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be generous, but spending money is ok. In other words if you don’t have the money to give away you can be generous with your acts of kindness and good deeds. It can be as easy as filling up the copy machine with paper at work, lending a hand to someone in need. You can hold the door open for people, smile, say a kind word (as long as it is an honest heart felt kind word). You can leave the waitress an extra good tip. Call someone you love and tell them you love them. Visit your mom, grandmother.  Offer to babysit your friends children to give them a break. Do the dishes for your family for the whole week. Be generous to everyone around you by showing kindness and concern, understanding, and not being selfish. Perform random acts of kindness where ever you go. At the end of the week, sit down and see how you feel. Do you feel amazing?

Think about this: if you were more generous in your business, in all your relationships, your children and spouse, at work with your work colleagues, how this would affect things. Your business may grow, you will have better relationships at work and home, and you will feel really good about yourself for making a difference in people’s lives.

Generosity can be powerful! Give it a try and share below.

God Bless you!

Love

Kim
